Here are some of the key questions you should ask before hiring a professional house cleaner:

1. What services do you offer?
It’s important to know what type of services the house cleaner offers, so you can make sure they are able to meet your needs. Are they experienced in deep cleaning or just basic dusting and vacuuming? Do they provide extras such as carpet shampooing or window washing? Don’t be afraid to ask for specifics – great cleaners will have no problem answering these types of questions.

2. How long have you been in business?
Experience matters when it comes to finding a reliable house cleaner. The longer they’ve been in business, the more likely it is that their reputation speaks for itself. Ask about their background and experience level, so you can feel confident about hiring them for the job.

3. Are you insured and bonded?
When dealing with someone who will be coming into your home, it’s always good practice to make sure they are properly insured and bonded against any potential accidents or mishaps that may occur while on the job. An uninsured and un-bonded cleaner could leave you liable for any damages or injuries that occur on your property during the cleaning process – so don’t forget to ask!

4. Do you use eco-friendly products and equipment?
Eco-friendly products are becoming increasingly popular due to concerns over health and environmental safety – especially in homes with hectic lives full of busy family members or pets running around all day! Ask if your prospective house cleaner uses non-toxic solutions that won’t harm your loved ones or cause respiratory issues down the line (especially if allergies run rampant in your household). Additionally, inquire about whether they use vacuum cleaners with HEPA filters which trap even smaller particles (pollen, pet dander etc.) – this helps reduce allergens indoors which ultimately helps keep everyone healthier!

5. Do you have references I can speak with?
A great way to ensure quality work is by speaking with past customers who have hired them before – this gives first-hand feedback from people who know how well their cleaning standard meets expectations! A reliable house cleaner should be able to provide at least one reference successfully upon request – this gives peace of mind when making big decisions for yourself and/or your family’s health & safety needs at home vs spending money on subpar service providers unknowingly beforehand!

6. What type of payment do you accept?
Ask about their pricing and payment methods, and if they offer any discounts or promotions.

7. Is there a contract?  What are your terms of service?
Ask about the terms and conditions of the contract and if they have a guarantee for their services.
